2005 - so far this year

    • 5-room house purchased.
    • 1,000 watt generator purchased and all huts, plus the house, now have lighting.
    • House-father employed to supervise the boys and assist House-mother and tend cows.
    • Tools purchased for children to tend land. Tractor hired to prepare ground for planting.
    • 2 acres of land hired for three years to grow food and feed for children and cows.
    • Arranged with local vet to visit animals twice a month on a regular basis to sort out and adjust the feed for cows.
    • Purchased and erected fencing for vegetable field, as roaming cattle and sheep ate the crops from last year.
    • Building started for zero grazing unit due to lack of grazing fields locally. Now completed and stocked.
    • Built a chicken coop for nesting and also free range.
    • Purchased another ten chickens and another cow.
    • Visited local government office to discuss new side road to village, plus culvert.


2004

    • 12 children moved on site.
    • Land transferred into Childrens' village name, so no-one can take it away from them.
    • Mains water connected and kitchen built and House-mother employed to oversee.
    • 5-room building on land, part purchased for dining room, store and study area.
    • New showers and toilets installed.
    • Children found places at local schools and uniforms purchased as children only had clothes they stood in.
    • Purchased 12 chickens and 3 cows.
    • Milking unit built.
    • Maize planted with vegetables and grasses for the children's needs, as well as the animals.

2003
    • £500.00 was raised which helped to build a brick storehouse. This was essential to store the food for the children.
    • The village was also able to provide a mug of porridge at midday for the children, this often is their main meal of the day.
    • Also supplied each child with a uniform and a pair of shoes so they all felt apart of the school.
    • £600.00 was also raised to equip two huts with beds, blankets, pillows, pots and pans with a further £200.00 raised to provide medical care.
